Abstract
NetKnife is a free BGP routing-lookup and network-diagnostics tool operated by Ondrya. Using it means agreeing to the terms below.
NetKnife looks up BGP routing data, RPKI/IRR validation state, WHOIS/RDAP records, and other public network information, and re-presents it through a web UI and API. It is provided as-is, free of charge, with no guaranteed uptime or support response time.
NetKnife aggregates data from external, third-party sources (BGP route collectors, RIR registries, RPKI repositories, IRR databases) that we don’t control and can’t guarantee are current, complete, or correct. Every page discloses its data source and freshness where that matters, but NetKnife is a diagnostic aid, not an authoritative record — during an active incident, cross-check anything safety- or business-critical against your own monitoring and the authoritative source directly. We are not liable for decisions made solely on the basis of data shown here.
An account is a free API key tied to an email address, with no identity verification. You’re responsible for keeping your API key reasonably private (it’s stored in your browser’s localStorage, not sent anywhere else by us); we’re not liable for actions taken using a key you’ve exposed.
Rate limits exist to keep the service usable for everyone. Don’t attempt to circumvent them (rotating keys/IPs, scraping beyond documented limits, etc.). We may suspend a key that abuses the service, without notice.
If you submit or vote on a BGP-community meaning, you confirm it’s accurate to your knowledge and grant NetKnife an unrestricted license to display it publicly. We may remove, edit, or reject any submission for accuracy or abuse reasons at our discretion. Don’t submit anything you don’t have the right to publish.
Don’t use NetKnife to violate any law, to attack or disrupt the service or any network it queries, or to submit false ASN-ownership claims or community-dictionary entries. We may terminate access for any account or IP that does.
We may change these terms, the service, or discontinue it at any time. Material changes to these terms will update the “Effective” date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
NetKnife is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ondrya is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
These terms are written in plain language to accurately describe the service, not as a substitute for legal advice. A specific governing-law/jurisdiction clause has been left out deliberately — have counsel add one appropriate to where Ondrya is based before relying on these terms for legal protection.
